On November 20^th 1989 the General Meeting of the United Nations Organizations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. In the convention lies the spirit of the international solidarity for observing the rights of the child. It reflects the strong will of the countries children's rights not to be trampled and the continuous ambition to be provided better conditions for the development of the child. All the decrees of the international act promote the common understanding of the need for protection of childhood, as a decisive period for the development of every human being.

The Convention is not just a list of good wishes, but act with binding force, meaning that both the state and society should provide opportunities for more effective protection of the children’s rights and interests and to expand their opportunities for active involvement and participation in society. We all have to face its challenges.

We must never forget that all children have equal rights!
