Association BRTMI took part in training "Volunteer Management and Children's Participation"

On 24.10.2014, our colleague Aleksandar Todorov participated in training on topic "Volunteer Management and Children's Participation", held in the town of Dolna Banya and organized by the National Network for Children as part of the "Autumn Camp" within which took part children and adults from across the country.

The training began with a brief introduction from each participant, followed by the definition and delimitation of both terms- "volunteering" and "child participation". Participants were introduced to the basic processes through which the organization must pass when recruiting volunteers. The trainer identified the main methods used in practice to motivate and retain volunteers and it wasn’t a surprise that honesty and frankness have emerged as two of the most important. Also, the trainer presented to the audience the main approaches that are used in communicating with volunteers.

Extremely useful was the opportunity for the participants to share with their colleagues their experience in working with volunteers as thus outlined the main difficulties that each of them faces in everyday life.
