Association BRTIM launched information campaigns to prevent trafficking of babies and Roma girls for sexual exploitation. They are within the project "Integrated approach of Ruse Municipality to integrate the Roma and other vulnerable groups in the territory of municipalities in Ruse region ", financed by the Bulgarian-Swiss program to support the social inclusion of Roma and other vulnerable groups.
The campaigns are part of the activities in the thematic priority 1 (Health care) of the project and are aimed at students and the Roma community. Experts from BRTMI Association will visit schools and neighborhoods inhabited by Roma in three municipal partners: Druzhba 2 residential area in Ruse and the villages of Ivanovo and Borovo. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness and sensitivity to the problem among children and students, as well as among adults living in Roma communities, so as to provoke discussions, meetings and lectures with their active participation.
Under the motto "Don’t sell yourself!" surveys and meetings with students and their parents will be conducted at their schools. Also, we will be giving brochures and other materials away and running formal and informal meetings in the community. The first meetings have been already conducted, despite the severe winter conditions. The campaign continues until the end of March 2016.
