BRTMI started the initial training of 6 educational mediators

On April 10, 2017, a team of trainers from BRTMI started a training course for six educational mediators within the project of Ruse Municipality under the HEA program. The mediators have been selected and appointed at 6 schools included in the project, inthe municipalities of Ruse, Vetovo and Borovo.

The training consists of three modules: Building educational mediator basic skills; Mediation in school environment; Practical skills, and will last for 18 days. After passing the course, mediators will receive systematic expert support in their immediate work, monitoring, and supervision so they could be useful and effective for school leaders, families and the community. Also, periodic upgrading of accumulated knowledge through continuing education has been planned.

The main task of educational mediators is to be the link between schools and community, representing both sides, supporting participation of all children in compulsory education and encouraging parents' participation in children's education and school life; in short-by facilitating cooperation between families, communities and schools.

Their task is not easy, but we soon hope to see the first results from their work on-site. Let’s wish them good luck!
