On February 21, we celebrate the International Mother Language Day. The holiday is devoted to preserving language and cultural diversity around the world.
On the occasion of the holiday, two open-to-the-public lessons were held today in two kindergartens in Ruse in front of guests and parents, during which the children demonstrated what they know about mother tongue, why it is valuable and how to preserve it.
In Chervenata shapchica Kindergarten, Svetilnik Branch, the children from Group 4, with the help of their pedagogues, presented an open lesson "My Mother Tongue". With songs and poems in Bulgarian, Turkish and Russian, and various games they showed their knowledge of their native language and demonstrated tolerance before the educators and guests. The children were active and eager to share what they had learned in a wonderful performance.
In Pinocchio Kindergarten, the children of Group 3 had prepared a program with the costumes of the different ethnic groups. They all danced, sang and had fun. During the lesson, the educators introduced the children to the different ethnic groups represented in Bulgaria - Turkish, Roma, Armenian, Jewish, Karakachan, Wallachian and Russian. The children touched their most characteristic features - traditional costumes, lifestyle, cuisine, dancing, songs, the alphabet. The finale was extremely emotional with all the children dancing the typical Bulgarian horo.
The events are part of the project activity "Promoting the integration process through creativity, joint cognitive activities and expressions for preserving the cultural identity of children from different ethnic groups" under project BG05M2OP001-3.001-0028 "Early socialization through successful educational integration" with Beneficiary Association "Romanian Cross-Border Instituteof Mediation", in which the two kindergartens are partners.
