This year, the faces of the people who help and those, grateful for that help were the focus of the exhibition "Charity through the lens" which was hosted by Lyuben Karavelov Ruse Regional Library with the support of the Association “Bulgarian-Romanian Trans-border Mediation Institute” (BRTMI).
The exhibition opened on 27th November (Friday) and the photographs will be exposed in Lyuben Karavelov Regional Library, Ruse until 11th December, 2015. The project and the exhibition "Charity through the lens" are carried out by the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum and the "Help for Charity in Bulgaria" Foundation. At this year’s competition of photographic projects on charity, the jury distinguished three photographers who were awarded grants of 2000 BGN each. This is the first documentary photography competition in the country, supporting artists in shooting their conceptual projects. The prizes for the winners have been provided by the following sponsors: Aurubis Bulgaria, Raiffeisen Bank and Coca-Cola Bulgaria.
Two of the winning projects are now on display in Ruse. These are Vladimir Petkov’s "In the same direction" and Tihomir Rachev’s "Friends of the sea." The exhibition will also show photographs by the winners in the overall competition.
The exhibition was presented in Sofia in late September this year, and then toured various cities in the country.
